Help me give my students the Chromebooks they need to prepare them for a career, using technology, our textbooks are 15 years old!

All of my students are enthusiastic learners, committed to doing their best in regards to their education. They crave knowledge and are exceptional at showing their newly formed skills when presented with new information. My drive is to force them to be independent, critical thinkers. We learn best when technology is readily available and they have access to the most current information. When students leave my class for high school, I want them ready to function as life-long learners and adults who immediately have skills to offer.
This project is to replace our textbooks with Chromebooks, giving students access to the most up to date information concerning history and geography. Our district is limited in funds and our textbooks are 13+ years old. The books are falling apart (covers are torn up or completely gone, pages missing) and the last president listed in the book is President George W. Bush. A class set of Chromebooks can eliminate the need for buying new textbooks and with the use of Google classroom, students can access school information from their home and their phone without having to carry the cumbersome textbook. Giving students access to the internet while learning opens far more opportunities than a textbook does on its own.
