My Students

My school is a small charter school located in Northern California. Next year, I will get to keep my third graders as they move into my 3rd and 4th grade combo class.

A small class size has given me opportunity to learn my students' interests.

I feel as if my students get a chance to shine at our school. I hope to start next year with my students' strengths and motivations in mind.

My Project

My students respond really well to interesting novels. Sadly, a lot of our books are hand-me-downs. We don't have any complete class sets of age-appropriate novels.

Next year, I'd like to read a Historical Fiction novel with my students!

We will be reading By the Great Horn Spoon! by Sid Fleischman

During our reading, we also keep a work binder. All of our notes from the reading will be kept in these binders. At the end of the school year, the students will take their work home as a keepsake.
