My Students
I currently have an energy-filled classroom of 50+ 5th graders. They have a wide variety of learning styles with most being visual, and they depend on our projector daily. We use our projectors to watch video clips, to show work with problem-solving, and students will be able to share their own creation from their iPads. Our school is a Title Ie campus with a very tight technology budget. More than 50% of my students did not pass their state assessment last year.
My Project
I am a math/ science/ social studies teacher who tries to meet the needs of all my students. Many of my students are visual learners and this is why we used our projector for more than 95% of our learning. Our current projector does not work half of the time, which makes it hard to be able to meet my visual students' needs. The students are always very enthusiastic to go in front of their classmates and show their work that they worked so hard on. Taking ownership in their work has really boosted their self-esteem and allows them to grow tremendously.
