Help me give my students a creative outlet. This recording bundle will transform our classroom into a music-making machine. Students will learn how to set up a home recording studio, audio recording, mixing, and producing.
My students are mainly from south Los Angeles. The majority of my students come from low income and immigrant backgrounds. We also work with students who are on probation, some who live in foster homes, and homeless youth. These students haven't had success in education at their previous schools for so many reasons.
They are now with us, working on their second, third, even fourth chance at a high school diploma.
They want to learn, they want to succeed, and they are ready to embrace the chance we are giving them.
Students love their individuality, their self-expression, and of course music. I foster that expression through creativity in my classroom.
This audio recording bundle that I am asking you to donate towards will create an unforgettable experience for my students.
By the end of this project, a student will not only understand the foundations of music creation and audio recording but gain a sense of self-worth and appreciation for their own ability. This project will teach students that they can be creators of content and not just consumers.
This project will bring real-life experiences into my classroom and also show my students that people do invest in them.
