My Students
I run my class with a mixture of mathematical material, comedy, and respect. Honestly, my students are more likely to grasp concepts and standards when they are having fun! That is what my class is all about, diving deep into more technology in their learning.
My students first and foremost are amazing kids.
They are energetic, upbeat, and positive. They put the effort they need to succeed in the classroom, with the limited resources they have, that we have. Most of our technology I have provided on my own with much financial difficulty, but this would be a helpful addition to our class. My students truly deserve much better and most of the resources I have provided. It is hard to go out and replace our current broken iPad. Our school has enrolled over 1,000 students, where 80% are enrolled in free or reduced-price lunch due to income levels. I can say as their teacher, my students WANT to learn and WANT to strive. We cannot ignore that we live in an age where technology is at the forefront of education.
My Project
We are requesting an Apple MacBook Pro computer in order to use it in all sorts of ways! I can use to grade, utilize Class DOJO, and deliver presentations. I plan to stream mathematical content from the computer to our class projector. They will learn all sorts of ways, especially in groups! I plan to use the computer by using my doc camera to provide clear instructions. We can play math games to enhance the learning environment in a more lively fashion. You could imagine the excitement for that!
The donations will make the classroom more engaging and fun!
It will allow our class to be more functional and operate the few technologies we have more efficiently. I know it seems like a lot, but this can benefit classes in the future as well. I just want these kids to have what I didn't have growing up. I want to make sure they are prepared for the next level. This and you can help that cause. A new computer can just enrich the lives and education with all 105 (4 classes) kids that come to class every day ready to learn. It allows the tech we do have to do so much more for years to come. We do not have the budget for tech like this, and I am more than humbled to ask for help. I have done what I can to make learning as advanced as possible. I use my belongings every day and I love it. This donation would help keep us up with the times and make us better learners all around.
