My Students

I am so lucky that I am able to teach the most amazing group of kids in the world. I teach Exceptional Children in the 3rd-5th grades separate class setting in a Title 1 school. Although my students have a wide range of disabilities, including Autism, ADHD, learning and intellectual disabilities, at the end of the day, they are all just children that want to feel happy and successful. They work so very hard to overcome all of the challenges they face. And they make ME work harder to help get them where they need to be.

My Project

Students, especially elementary students, are drawn to color. Unfortunately our school does not have ANY color printers. Any visuals or social stories I want for my students have to be submitted to the district for making, which can take weeks to receive. This color printer will allow me to make visuals instantly, which is so helpful for special needs children that require immediate feedback to encourage positive behavior. This will also allow me to print pictures of the students during different activities, events and trips our class participated in. I can send the pictures home with them so they can save memories of our class and their experiences forever.
