This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach second grade in a low-income, urban setting in St. Louis, Missouri. Our team level goal is to have 80% of our students on or above reading grade-level by the end of the school year.
In order for students to become more advanced readers, it is imperative that students are exposed to multiple forms of media.
In the class we utilize multiple websites like Razkids and Epic to become better readers.
My students love to learn, especially through independent reading. They come to school every day with a passion for education!
My Project
Having a pair of headphones for every student would mean that they can focus on their learning and not be distracted by another students Chromebook. Technology time in the class is a favorite of my students!
My students love reading and listening to stories on the Chromebook.
They get to build their independent reading level by reading on Razkids and challenging themselves by taking quizzes. The students also get extra support in math by reviewing the days' lesson on Zearn which helps the students learn through fun and challenging games. All my students would love to have their own pair of headphones to help them learn.
