The children that we serve are ages 3-5 years old. Although the children in our program are from low income families, they are like any typical preschool child who learns best through engagement with their teacher and the material that are provided to them.
We strive to produce an environment conducive to their fun, loving, and energetic personalities.
The many ways the children explore new topics is through exposure, taking field trips, playing, cooking, painting, drawing, and being immersed in the topic of interest.
Our group of children are passionate in their playful learning, which inspires us to present as many opportunities that will enhance their sense of wonder and build a joy of continuous learning.
The children are excited about having a class fish in our room. They would like a purple fish, however it will need a home. This fish tank will not only add in a residence for the fish but it will also help the children care for something other then themselves. They will learn about fish care, responsibility, empathy, and respect for other living things.
They will also learn about different types of fish, different types of water fish live in and about each environment that fish need to survive.
Once we set up our fish tank we plan to take a visit to our local pet store for the fish tank supplies and our pet.
