Music and the arts are some of the greatest avenues to reach kids that often struggle in school. Many of the students who thrive in the arts are from the hardest socioeconomic situations. About half of our students come from low-income households.
Our students love the arts and putting on plays and programs for our community.
For most students, this is the biggest highlight of their school year.
We are a really small community, our school is the heartbeat of this town. When we put on a program; everyone comes.
As our school grows, so does our band! This is an awesome thing for our school! However; as our student population grows, so does our need for instruments.
We provide school instruments to families that cannot afford an instrument of our own.
Our school has a significant number of students that come from low socioeconomic status. Any school instruments are offered on a first come first serve basis. When we run out of school instruments that the student prefers- we have to convince them to try a different instrument. We never want to turn students away from the band; but our growing population has shown us a huge need to expand the number of instruments so that we are prepared for our growth.
