Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our entire school participates in a program called CIS (Campus International School) Reads! For the last 20 minutes of each school day, students are asked to bring or select something to read. This allows for a peaceful and efficient dismissal while encouraging reading and the CHOICE of what you read based on your interests.

I would like to motivate my students by providing them with a variety of socially and culturally relevant reading materials to choose from.

The importance of providing these types of reading materials for middle school students cannot be underestimated. This project will impact students on a daily basis!
