My Students

My students are energetic and enthusiastic 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Their inquisitive nature makes teaching science so much fun. Although many of my students struggle with language and academics, they are determined and have a genuine desire to learn. Their faces light up during each experiment; their eyes twinkle with excitement.

An exciting science experience transcends language and ability.

No matter which class or student I am teaching, with the proper tools they are engaged and ready to learn. A simple demonstration can prompt a plethora of questions and lead to authentic inquiry in a matter of moments.

My Project

My students will learn about electricity and electrical circuits through a variety of safe, hands-on learning experiences with the Snap Circuits Jr. kits. All students will have the opportunity to test, explore, and engage with the Snap Circuits by following the instructions on the activity cards and also creating their own electrical devices.

Our classroom will be electric as students investigate and create with these kits!

Students will be introduced to the parts of a circuit and how a system functions. With 100 activities and the option for open exploration, I can’t imagine I’ll be hearing “I’m done” anytime soon!
