My Students

Fourth grade is a very interesting grade. My students come to me very curious about the world, forming their own little lives, and all wanting to learn!

As a teacher, I get some students at the beginning of the year who hate school and some who think it’s okay and just something they have to do.

My goal, as a teacher, is to have them begging to come to school and even disappointed if they have to miss school.

I have figured out how to do this. We have to make our classrooms a place where students are comfortable and forget they are even in school. We also have to make learning engaging, hands-on, and memorable!

My Project

We are in need of a new whole group rug. I love pulling my kids down to the carpet to share things that they have written, or for extra learning. Right now we would love to use it for small group. Due to COVID, our classroom set up has been forced to change, but this would allow us to gather- distanced!

We are also in need of hands-on learning for circuits and learning about electricity!

This is such a fun unit but it could be so much more engaging with hands-on materials! This would allow my student to explore open and closed circuits and design different circuits on their own!
