Help me give my students copper tape and LED lights and other circuitry supplies for our makerspace so they can get hands-on experience in making paper circuits.
My students are heterogeneously grouped with varied academic levels. They are hard-working, well-behaved, and enthusiastic about learning. They enjoy taking risks and exploring new ideas.
My students find learning to be more meaningful when they are having fun and when they are responsible for their own learning.
My school is a preschool to 5th grade school that serves a population of about 1,500 students from culturally diverse backgrounds. A majority of our students are from low-income families. Our school is dedicated to technology integration and technology-rich classrooms. Our school administration and teachers provide students with a high quality curriculum aligned to the Common Core.
My Project
Benjamin Franklin said, "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I may remember. Involve me and I learn." This exactly what this project is all about. Paper circuits are a simple way to light up our makerspace and infuse STEM into our classroom activities. Paper circuits are easy way for students to learn all about electronics.
Learning by doing will enable students to design an infinite number of creative light -up ideas once they have the basic idea of how to use and assemble the circuits.
Students can design light up cards, posters, robots, and even pop up book pages. They will also be able to use their 3D design knowledge to print 3D objects that can also be enhanced with circuitry.
