This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am going back to the classroom after two years of serving as the lead instructional coach at my school. I have worked with the rising third graders all year, and am so excited to be back in the classroom teaching them this fall!
I teach in a high poverty school.
Many of my students come from single-parent households and many of them are economically disadvantaged. I want to provide all of my students with rich learning experiences and with materials that they might not have access to at home.
One of the most important parts of the day is our morning meeting time. This CircleTime will provide a warm, caring, family-like environment as we gather each morning, each afternoon, and throughout the day.
My Project
The CircleTime rug will be used in our classroom every day, multiple times a day. The most important activities that will take place on this rug will be our morning meeting and our closing circle. Having a CircleTime rug in our room will help provide us with a safe, joyful, and engaging learning community.
All students deserve to have a sense of belonging and to feel significant.
I want to provide my students with that kind of environment every day they come to school. Please consider making a donation today to help us get a CircleTime rug to make that possible! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
