My Students

I teach a Special Education Preschool class with a diverse group of students and needs. Our class is one where we encourage each other to build upon strengths and tackle challenges together. My students are busy learning to become part of a classroom community in addition to the pre-academics needed as they move on to Kindergarten.

Our class is curious, active, and excited learners who enjoy hands-on experiences.

Discovering the world around them through exploration provides opportunities for them to learn in a genuine and meaningful way.

My Project

As we have moved to distance learning, connecting with our students through an online platform allows us to ensure our students feel seen and soothed during this challenging time. Engaging them through familiar songs and stories with the props in this project will help encourage their participation. These props can be used throughout the rest of our year and into the next as well. The use of these props will build an interest in students and encourage them to sing and tell these stories at home with their parents as well. As families and children come together, these materials will assist in reinforcing our school and home connection.
