Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have to practice self control beyond the capabilities of a 5 year old:) We can put tape on the floor and my personal or school budget cant afford a carpet! This makes it very difficult to set boundaries for students during carpet time!
My students are a blessing beyond belief!
They mostly come from low income families but have the best attitudes! Our school is a public school for a small community on the out skirts of my town. They live in CA in a small farming community. Most speak Spanish and English, a few just Spanish, and the rest English. I have a lot of students who didn't go to preschool and this is their first time in school! They all love Kindergarten and my goal is to keep that feeling so they learn to love learning and school!
My Project
Having a carpet for carpet time will change our whole class learning. They will be able to focus better. Boundaries are important to set up for young children and its hard to do without a specified place for each child to sit. This will make my classroom routine so smooth! I hope you will see the importance and I know if you are an early childhood educator or have visited a classroom you will know the importance. I am a new teacher and any help I can is amazing!
My students are so thankful for their classroom.
They love everything about it. I made it sports themed for them to be able to enjoy even more. We already have built a community and are able to learn from one another. I know they would be so happy to receive a new carpet and have a place for each to sit. They would be so honored and I know they deserve it!
