My students need the exclusive AKJ Education collection to help supplement my science curriculum and enrich their reading with science-rich, nonfiction titles.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Students in my classroom love to do hands on projects and it enhances their ability to learn. I run an inquiry based Science Class in which the students love to participate and are able to see the real life connections.
Eighty percent of my students are two grade levels below their age appropriate peers and require modifications and project based activities to better understand the curriculum.
My students do not make school a priority and doing projects and using technology sparks the interest of the students and enhances their overall education.
My Project
This exclusive AKJ Education collection will help supplement my science curriculum and enrich classes with science-rich, nonfiction titles.
NGSS disciplinary core ideas as well as the specific topical strands will allow these students to become interested in Science as well as improve on their reading skills.
My students will enjoy these books during individual reading time and will be writing and summarizing the supplementary books. The students in my class tend not to read and by capturing their interest in the real world and through science will allow these students to not only expand their interests but to improve on their reading and writing skills while covering the curriculum and the NGSS standards.
