Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are funny, loving, creative, inspirational. inquisitive, and poor. They are bilingual 7 and 8 year olds who come from diverse backgrounds and may have had interrupted schooling. They live in impoverished areas where funding is alway being cut. Our biggest challenge is having 1:1 technology in the classroom so that we can become global citizens exposed to technology. They aren't different from many other kids they just need a little help to get an equitable education by acquiring technology.
My Project
Getting one to one devices for my students will help them get an equitable education in our city. Chromebooks will help us connect to the world as a class and not have to wait 20 minutes for a previous rotation to end. Chromebooks will help us do reserach on our favorite animals, practice our math skills, use Google classroom to share our writing and be able to read books on line. This technology will also help them prepare for state and district assessments done on line and expose them to technology not available at home. Technology will no longer be a challenge.
