Words cannot describe how excited I am to have my first classroom! Due to the fact this is my first year teaching, I am trying to grow and expand my resources! In addition, our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with 100% of students receiving free breakfast and lunch.
My school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in the city, where students speak a multitude of languages.
As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics. Everyday I make sure to welcome my students with a smile on my face and in return they exchange a smile back, ready for to learn and succeed. Despite many hardships my students may face, they are eager and put in their best effort. They know that in our classroom is never about a perfect outcome, it is instead about the risks and effort put forth. My students certainly deserve a successful and engaging classroom, where they can become life long learners.
My Project
With the addition to Chromebooks into our classroom, we will be one of the only classrooms in the school that has access to such technology. My students will be able to access websites that reinforce skills and reach their highest level of achievement. In addition, Chromebooks will also build upon twenty first century skills that students will need to succeed. My fourth grade students will be able to create, collaboratively and independently, projects using tools on Chromebooks. Also, students will be able to practice typing skills required for state standardized testing, which have become computer based. Chromebooks will become an essential part of helping my students succeed with their learning and understanding of numerous skills.
