I teach 6th grade math at a middle school in Clermont, Florida. The sixth graders are new to the building and excited for new experiences and challenges. My students are creative, thoughtful and full of energy and excitement! They are ready to take on the world and love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions!
My mission is to create opportunities for all students to become skilled, passionate, critical thinkers.
Every child in my classroom has the ability to learn, although the method and environment in which they learn vary greatly. I strive to provide a variety of learning strategies and learning options to ensure that each student gets what he or she needs. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
My students need chromebooks for researching, exploring and doing online math programs! They are also very excited to get to work with technology and to be able to provide this technology in math class would be beyond amazing. From the moment they walk through the door of my classroom I want students to be excited to be in math class. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly do my best to control their experience during the school day.
