My Students

Educational extras are a luxury for our students. We are a neighborhood middle school with a significant immigrant population. Our classrooms are multi-national, multi-cultural and bi-lingual.

Our common goal is to understand mathematics.

The diversity within our classrooms sometimes makes this goal challenging to attain. The one constant is our students' curiosity and desire to learn.

Eliminating barriers to learning and enhancing the learning environment are priorities for us. We want to provide our students with the educational extras they can't provide for themselves. Ultimately, we want our students to realize they can succeed, not only in math, but also in life.

My Project

My class does not have a dedicated set of Chromebooks for students. When Advisory teachers can't give Chromebooks to students, the four Chromebooks I have in my Math intervention class are insufficient for my students. This project will bring the total number of Chromebooks in my room to six.

My goal is to build a Dell Chromebook library, so each of my students has access to this technology on a consistent basis.

This project continues my quest to achieve this goal. Thanks to the DonorsChoose.org community, we now have four dedicated Chromebooks in my classroom. Students use these every day. The demand for this technology is great, hence this new goal of two more Chromebooks for my students.
