Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My loving, charismatic 4th grade students are outstanding and deserve the best learning opportunities offered. Our school is an inner city, high poverty school with a community of children who work very diligently to meet the requirements to stay in our magnet school. Our school has a wide range of diversity, with children from numerous countries and backgrounds. Overall, our school has over 45 different nationalities, that are celebrated throughout the whole year. My students are ambitious, respectful and most of all, loving!
My Project
The use of online instruction is promoted for students to participate in daily at our school. We offer prizes, incentives and much more just to get students to use programs such as iReady, MobyMax and Lexia to enhance their learning, understanding and comprehension of subjects.
Unfortunately, teaching in a low income, Title I school, not all students have the privilege of owning a laptop, tablet, or iPad to work on at home.
With the donations of three Samsung Chromebooks and protective shell cases, I am hoping to extend their knowledge beyond the four walls of our classroom. Students can take the Chromebooks home, practice their skills, complete their homework, and participate in earning rewards like the other students.
