Ms. Long from Jonesboro GA is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need the Chromebooks to work independently on music theory, ear training activities, and sight-reading exercises.

My students are amazing! I look forward to teaching them every day! They are very motivated and push me to be a better teacher. Many in my program plan to keep music in their life beyond middle school and beyond high school. Most of my students are hoping for music scholarships for college and some are even planning to become music majors. By the time the students leave middle school they are already performing high school level music.
Raising money through traditional fundraisers has become increasingly difficult.
We appreciate donors choose and all we've received through our various projects. Donors choose has made it possible for us to have necessary supplies we need each year to be successful.
In addition to performing, the students in my magnet orchestra class have a class focused on music theory which includes ear training and piano. I am continually looking for ways to make music theory activities more engaging and fun for the students. I also look for ways to make sure all students are successful.
I am plan to incorporate MusicFirst, which are cloud-based tools, into my orchestra and theory classes.
This will allow my class to be more individualized, giving all students an opportunity to be successful and create more challenge for those who move quickly. It will also allow students to have more access to ear training and sight-reading which will better prepare them for the high school magnet program. The chromebooks will make it possible for those without electronic devices to participate in the online activities.
