Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I school with several ELL students. My students come from diverse backgrounds with the majority from high poverty situations. Many come from large families. Most have no or limited technology. My students enjoy school and love learning. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, these students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. My classroom is full of wonderful, and eager third graders, who deserve the best.
My students deserve the best education possible no matter their background and I strive to give it to them.
They do not always have the extra support and materials at home, but they are eager to try their best. But, they need your help! Instruction is rigorous and the students are held accountable for their learning. If you would like to play a part in their education, and help shape their future, then check out our projects.
My Project
My students need Chromebooks and a few headphones. They're at an age where they learn best through hands-on activities using technology. They're introduced to so many new concepts and providing them with educational activities and interactive games as well as having access to google accounts will go a long way to help them master these new concepts. I will be able to blend our learning. I am constantly striving for ways to meet the educational needs of my students, especially in light of the Common Core mandated curriculum.
As we advance further into the 21st century, technology is becoming more and more integrated into our society.
The rapid and widespread adoption of technological innovations has completely changed the way we conduct our daily lives, including how knowledge is digested and taught in each of our classrooms.
Students will use the Chromebooks to engage in several online learning activities and online research for school mandated programs and requirements as well as much more.
They will learn to incorporate technology into their learning. Students will be able to use these in small groups and for independent work. These two Chromebook will provide them with the daily opportunity they need to succeed.
The donation of these Chromebooks will definitely improve my classroom.
