My first graders are spunky, curious, hard working, and enthusiastic! They enjoy playing the learning games provided for them. They are always excited to learn new games as well as varied ways to play them. Just as they enjoy moving their bodies, they also enjoy moving their brains! They prefer activities that intrigue their minds and provide opportunities to figure out the path of learning on their own. They get very excited to show me what they have learned!
Each child has different needs and learning styles.
My students love to be challenged as well as have different options while learning. They thrive on choosing their own activities. For this reason, I like to provide various choices for my students, empowering them to have a say their learning process and feeling success as they go.
My students absolutely love learning and are proud of their accomplishments. They enjoy being able to compare themselves from the beginning of the year to who they become by the end of the year. They see so much growth in themselves and really feel a sense of success!
My Project
There are wonderful resources online on our school's website. Due to the limited amount of working computers in our labs, it is very difficult for my students to have a way to access them.
My students are missing out on valuable math and literacy resources.
These online math and literacy games and activities enhance our curriculum. There are many to choose from. Having this big of a selection will keep the learning fresh and my students engaged. I use some as assignments in expository writing, applying math skills, and electronic reading libraries. My students are also be able to choose games, books, and activities that interest them. It is important to have this freedom and ownership in their learning process.
