My students need a set of 6 Chromebooks. This will allow our classroom to use technology during small group times as a center activity, or for differentiated learning individually.
My first graders are excited to learn! They are curious, love to use technology, and participate in hands-on experiences. Here in South Florida, we see a wide range of diversity in the classroom. My first graders come with different home languages, cultures, and socioeconomic status.
Not everyone has access to technology at home, but I have seen that providing technology in the classroom can give all students a better chance to make positive academic gains.
They love challenges, small group work, partner activities, and creating their very own projects. As a teacher, I am excited to see them grow and learn to do their very best.
My Project
Chromebooks can be used for vocabulary extension for ESOL students (those still learning English).
We would love to use Chromebooks during our reading groups to practice reading fluency and phonics with online games.
Math and Science will be enhanced when we use our Chromebooks for research and math fact fluency.
There are so many wonderful opportunities opened to students, when technology is used in positive ways to enhance education. Research shows that when used effectively, the appropriate technology and content can combine to transform learning. An added bonus is that appropriate use of technology in the classroom can enhance creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
