Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a very low income/high poverty area. These students are faced with several challenges many of us will never experience. Most are being raised in single parent households, or by grandparents.

My goal is to guide and inspire these children, to break the cycle, and help them reach their full potential in our fast paced technology based world.

They can not do this if they do not have access to Chromebooks which they can use to increase their knowledge of technology.

My Project

The Chromebooks will allow students to use a computer daily instead of just one day a week in our computer lab. Students will be able to use the Chromebooks to access Myon, iXL, and Readworks, where they can read stories, answer questions, and solve math problems, all on their individual level. This will help to prepare them for Istep, and Iread while allowing students to work at their own individual pace.

We will use them to complete research projects allowing them to research, type, and create presentations to present their information to the class.

We will also use them during centers to go to spelling city and practice spelling words, and Wikipedia to learn vocabulary words.
