My Students

Our elementary school is a K-8 public school in an urban setting. My project will provide more students with the opportunity to use technology at their desks in social studies, language, and science classes at the middle school levels. All of the students are attending Special Education classes and benefit greatly from using the school-bought learning software programs on a daily basis. Using online learning provides a better student learning experience, but we don't have enough Chromebooks for half of the class right now. The three Chromebooks I am requesting will help meet the accommodations required for their Individual Educational Programs.

My Project

It would be a tremendous asset to have Chromebooks available for each of my students each day. We use software which interacts and adjusts to each student's learning level, and having the class work on these Internet-based sites simultaneously will benefit both instruction and the classroom experience. There are many issues that arise when students are trying to share our current stock within the limited time of our class schedules. This technology allows for differentiated instruction, accurate assessments, and an aspect of entertainment that keeps the students engaged. We have acquired enough for small groups but cannot currently get the whole class on the same page.
