Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is a place where third graders learn in an open and welcoming environment. Third grade is such an important year for students in that they are required to take end-of-year exams for the first time in their educational career.
My classroom embraces diversity and community building.
We support one another and enjoy sharing our learning experiences. Our school hosts English Language Learners and students of other diverse backgrounds. We are a student-centered campus and strive to be greater every day!
My Project
Technology is fast becoming a normal part of the everyday classroom. These Chromebooks will help my students stay engaged in lessons as well as learn important technology skills that they can use their whole life through. We will use these Chromebooks for math and literacy stations, student math and literacy interventions, research, and district-provided internet programs that we would otherwise be unable to use. Having access to Chromebooks means more of my students will be able to participate in the use of technology each day. On top of all of the educational benefits of using Chromebooks in the classroom, a major bonus is the level of engagement! My students love to take charge of their own learning and having access to a Chromebook allows them to do so. Anchor chart paper and colored printer paper are used on a daily basis in our classroom. Anchor charts help lock in lessons, and colored paper keeps interactive notebook activities interesting and engaging.
