In our classroom, we try to be as hands-on and innovative as possible. We want to explore and create possibilities. Our biggest challenge is getting the materials we need to provide the ultimate learning experience. Our school is located in a low income area.
Many of my students live below the poverty line.
They work well as teams and are more like a family than many of them have at home. It is amazing what these students are doing at this school and I would like to continue and go even further with this tradition.
My Project
The Chromebooks will have multiple purposes in the classroom. The Chromebooks will be able to help my students improve their typing skills and allow them to become more fluent with technology.
Google Classroom will be used in which the students can collaborate on different projects.
Along with this, the students can use Google Slides to retell the literary elements of a story as well as reinforce vocabulary. Peer tutoring and critiquing are other ways in which the Chromebooks will be used in the classroom. The Chromebooks will be used over multiple content areas.
All content areas will be impacted by the Chromebooks. The core subjects have many websites in which lessons can be taught and reinforced through having the Chromebooks readily available. As technology is constantly growing and changing, this will enable my students to continue to grow with the technology. Some do not have this opportunity anywhere else besides at school, as with the changing world it is very important that they are given the chance to experience the technological world.
