Ms. Logan from Birmingham AL is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need Chromebooks to collaborate in research and learning. My students need the opportunity and experience of working on a computer to be successful in today's world.

My students come from Woodlawn and Gate City, predominately low-economic areas. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They are creators, hard workers, leaders, and dreamers.
I teach at a Title I school in Birmingham, AL where 100 percent of students receive free breakfast and lunch.
More than half of my students receive backpack food for the weekends. As a teacher, I want to provide as many experiences for my students as possible.
The Chromebooks will be used on a daily basis for a variety of subjects and purposes. My students will be able to publish their writing and create other publications on our Chromebooks. Without enough computers in the classroom and a limited time in the school computer lab, it is difficult to make sure each student gets the time they need to spend developing these skills. Not only will the Chromebooks be used for typing out their writing, research, creating presentations, but they will also be learning the foundational skill of navigating through the web. The majority of my students do not have access to a computer or internet outside of school. These Chromebooks will provide technological experience my students need.
Chromebooks will allow my students to also develop their own voices in design, engineering, and art.
Coding is an essential part of today's world and I am excited to provide a time for my students to practice coding through different applications.
These Chromebooks will be a game changer in our classroom and I am excited to see what my students will accomplish by using technology!
