Chromebooks for STEM Science Labs

My students need Chromebooks available in the lab every day in order to work on daily labs, activities, and research so students are active learners and incorporate STEM into lessons every day.

My Students

We serve students from very diverse backgrounds. More than a third of students come from low income families, while others come from middle class families. Some students are ESL as they have come from countries such as Puerto Rico or are children of parents who immigrated to America. Other children take classes at Russian schools over the weekend and are more advanced than the average student. We also serve students who have various disabilities and are on IEP's and 504's.

My Project

Chromebooks needed for science labs and class so STEM can be incorporated into class work daily and students can be more active learners. Having chromebooks available will allow students to do research, complete labs, and do interactive activities. If a questions comes up, I can have students look up the answer themselves. This will allow students to not be as reliant on me and assume the responsibility for their own learning.

A Chromebook per group also will require students to be collaborative learners.

Students will have to learn how to share responsibilities for projects and research. This is important in today's society as people are often working with others to complete a task.
