My Students

My classroom is a learning community. We focus on independent and collaborative work, but push one another to create a challenging and stimulating work environment. We follow the Common Core Standards in Language Arts, Reading & Social Studies. It is my goal that all students feel safe and comfortable to learn and grow as young adults. My students are highly motivated and self-directed. They are hard-working and kind. It's exciting that they like to work collaboratively and enjoy presenting material to their peers.

My Project

Students will be able to use the technology in this project for internet research, essay writing, presentations and collaborative work. My students will be working to strengthen their writing skills in the next few months and the Chromebook's allow students to collaborate and revise easily in the Google Apps for Education programs. We will use these tools to help students understand the most effective writing strategies and processes. Having access to technology resources right in the classroom provides my students with to a more complete learning environment, with true resources that support current curriculum standards. Whether students are working independently or in a group, these tools amplify the learning process.
