My students need 3 Chromebooks so that they can begin to use research skills learned in the library. Chromebooks are also a necessity for students to have access to our online catalog.

My Students
I am the School Librarian at a public school in Brooklyn, New York. My students range in grade levels from pre-k to grade 8. The majority of our students qualify for free lunch, making it a high poverty area. We have a very large student population of English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities. Due to limited funding we do not have any computers in the library to support student research projects or to use our online catalog to search for books We look to outside support to provide our students with the materials that are necessary to become life-long learners and lovers of literature.
My Project
These materials will have a positive impact on the learning that takes place in our school library! We plan on using them to teach and reinforce research skills.
The addition of ChromeBooks into our school library will help teach research skills.
Without technology, we face many obstacles while teaching these skills. The addition of ChromeBooks will also allow students to learn how to effectively use our Online Public Access Catalog.
With the addition of ChromeBooks, we can be assured that we are providing our students with the necessary equipment to allow them to gain knowledge and become college and career ready.
