Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first graders are entering a critical part of their educational career. I want to set them on a path for college readiness. My scholars are growing up in a low-income area; that does not predict their educational trajectory. My scholars work hard and enter the classroom each day with a new sense of urgency that shows that they are truly exhibiting what it means to be college-ready at this young age! I have a class of 26 brilliant scholars. They are researchers, mathematicians, scientists, authors, historians, etc. My students are the future of our city, and members of our future society. Every day they come into my classroom excited to learn, and ready to take on the challenges I have set up for them. These youngsters deserve the absolute best education they can get, and they deserve to be supported in every way possible in the most important year of their educational career.
My Project
Our campus has been pushed to new heights. We have a challenge to transition to distance learning due to Covid-19 pandemic. We want to continue our ongoing charge to ensure educational equity and with your donation to our 1:1 Chromebook project , we can meet the need of closing the digital access gap during this time of crisis.
At our school, over 50% of scholars do not have access to a computer/tablet at home.
We are compelled to work even harder to ensure that our scholars have 1-1 chrome book access at home and school to ensure that learning is always accessible no matter where they are. We need affordable, reliable, and proven technology in the hands of our scholars. These chromebooks will provide them access to programs which allow personalized learning and growth. Technology is a very important resource for any scholar to use in and outside of school. Support our 1:1 Chromebook project today!
