Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
You can find it on the Internet! I currently have six Chromebooks for 135 students. I have two classes with 36 students sharing those six Chromebooks. I need an additional four Chromebooks in order to create smaller groups for projects.
I currently teach 135 sixth and seventh graders.
These students come from an urban area and few have the resources at home needed to complete projects. Many are economically disadvantaged and struggle with being engaged in class. They thrive however, when they are given a project that engages their minds.
My Project
My students will use the additional Chromebooks in small groups to complete research-based activities and project based activities. These computers will offer my students the opportunity to complete research in class and other computer-based projects. Using the computers will provide them a chance to increase their team working skills and expose them to lessons and activities based on 21st century skills.
They will also use the computers for presentations that will allow them to practice collaboration, communication, and creativity.
When students are engaged they are learning.
These Chromebooks will allow me to create in-class projects that offer the students opportunities to explore and learn in an engaging way.
