Help me give my students A 21st Century Necessity: 1:1 Technology Accessed !
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I am a 3rd grade math teacher.
Although most of my students are from underprivileged neighborhoods and families, they are eager to learn.
Every day, they greet me with a smile and a hug. They are funny and full of personality. I have a few students who struggle academically, but that doesn't stop them from working hard each and every day. They are the strongest and most resilient students I have ever met in my life, and I'm happy to have them!
It is often stated that "Today's Students are Our Tomorrow Leaders," meaning that the students we having in our classroom will one day grow up to be leaders (optimistically speaking). As educators, it is our duty to make sure that every child is given a quality education and experience that will prepare them for their future.
Everyday, the world is being innovated through the work of technology.
Therefore, our future leaders need to early access to technology.
Currently, I only have one laptop in my room. The only time my whole class get an a chance with technology is when they are taking AR quizzes and taking state test.
I would like to provide my students with 1:1 chrome books to take a break from pencil and paper, tablets and computers along make learning more fun. I would assign work, centers, and enrich activities on several programs. Students would be able to research and do many more things. Most of all they will be able to have a chance at becoming an effective future leader.
