My students are a group of highly enthusiastic learners. We are a class of 22-second graders. My students are very excited about learning everything and making our brains smarter.
My second graders come to school with bright smiles everyday and ready to learn anything and everything they can!
Our favorite way to learn is through experiences. In our classroom, we learn through games and teamwork. Our favorite game to play is the addition war card game. The more activities and experiences with numbers we can have, the better our brains will remember and understand new ideas. Every day is a different experience and we are making new connections in our brains with every new experience.
My wish is to provide an additional 9 Chromebooks build upon our current set of 18 to make a full class set of 27 to share in our five 2nd grade classrooms. Chromebooks will allow my students to research and extend STEAM and AVID-based activities/challenges. By using the new technology of Chromebooks for collaboration, our 2nd graders will be impacted by helping them practice 21st-century learning skills. The students can use the Chromebooks to create their own digital student portfolios to showcase their work which will impact students by giving them ownership over their learning. Our 2nd graders can also use their passion for STEAM to explore early coding and create presentations of their learning to share with others. The new Chromebooks positively impact our early learners by building upon their high-interest in collaboration and STEAM-based learning.
