My Students
I teach second grade in southern Illinois. Our school has Pre-K through third grade in our building. My second graders come each year with more confidence in our building and are ready to take on the challenges of our curriculum and be leaders in the school.
My students are motivated to learn, even if they don't have the newest technology that is available.
My school is part of a community where everyone helps and really cares for the students and wants to see them succeed. They are eager to learn, and should be exposed to all technology to better prepare them for higher learning.
My Project
My students need computers for our classroom. Students are encouraged to use technology to further their understanding of technology, look up information for research projects, and review and improve their Math skills. Most of my students need practice typing because they do not have computers at home.
Today’s world revolves around technology.
Adding 2 Chromebooks to our classroom would boost my students’ technology skills, including typing which is necessary for state testing and a key life-skill moving forward in school and future careers.
Having chromebooks would also allow my students to learn how to navigate the internet on kid-friendly sites safely, and collaborate on research projects. They also provide fun and can be a great incentive or reward to motivate students.
