Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My third grade students attend a rapidly expanding school, which continues to grow. It offers a rigorous academic environment with teachers that are willing to go above and beyond for their students. They are eager to use new technology, provide exciting learning activities and put in all their effort into learning!
Our hardworking students are tomorrow's leaders; they are given high expectations to excel upon.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds, especially low-income and English as second language households. They take advantage of all opportunities given to them.
My Project
Studies have shown that with technology as a source of learning, students are more engaged, and they demonstrate a more positive attitude towards computer-based instruction. This is why I have chosen the Chromebooks for my students. In my classroom, we have access to a Promethean board which is used as an interactive tool. They will allow my students to work on group projects, access math and science programs and explore their own interests.
Chromebooks will help create a differentiated structured learning environment for my students.
They will be able to create projects that are meaningful to them as well as challenging. I want to give them the strong foundation they will need in technology to enable them to become productive students and future leaders.
