Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In today's increasingly technology-based learning environments, teachers need modern tools to keep up with current professional and instructional demands.
My students are in an urban area in a focus school with low funding.
They are low functioning and from a low socioeconomic community. These students are increasingly interested in technology and have proven to be visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learners. Although technology seems to be an invaluable help to getting students involved in their academic success, most of them lack the financial ability to utilize technology outside of the classroom environment.
My Project
The students will be able to use these Chromebooks for a multitude of activities. We are using different websites such as Tenmarks.com and Successmaker the best we can with our few aging desktops, to provide students with a highly engaging and technical classroom experience. Students can watch videos and get up to the minute data on what topics they are struggling with. They also can manage their own documents and files, and conduct research easily while at their team tables. Using software, I can push messages, links, assignments, resources and feedback to them as I continuously monitor their activities. During lab time, students can work on creating spreadsheets and entering data, easily using formulas and other program resources to analyze and interpret their findings. Students will also use the Chromebooks to conduct research to build evidence in order to support their mathematical reasoning and claims. This project will make an immense difference for my students.
Every year my class expands but the materials I have diminish adding Chromebooks enables more students to get digital help.
This project will make an immense difference for my students because, r fingertips is priceless. Their interest in learning, will rise and inspire them to pursue further STEM studies.
