My students are all Kinder and Grade 1 special education students who are being served in the regular classroom. They sometimes step out to work with a small group of peers to enable them to concentrate on specific skill acquisition. All of the students are struggling with language and other needs because of Autism and related disorders.
To fully develop their language, these wonderful little people need access to media which is engaging and fun!
The students are so hard working at age 5, I can't wait to see what they will do as they grow, because their determination is AMAZING!
My Project
My language impaired inclusion students need to be able to access some of the wonderful websites, games, and stories available through use of Chromebooks. Before and after participation in a group lesson, my special needs K-1 students will be able to see video and play games which reinforce their primary understanding of concept and background.
While working with peers with typical abilities, my students will be able to find examples, play games, and enjoy expanding their understanding through visiting age appropriate sites.
The joy students experience when playing a game strongly encourages their sharing of language and practice speaking and engaging with peers.
