My Students
My academy is a diverse, high achieving charter school located in Durham, NC. Our school is fairly new and still growing to full capacity. Because of this, our resources are limited.
The students in 5th grade are learning 21st Century skills and concepts that will lead to future success in school and in life!
They approach learning with a growth mindset, determined to take ownership of our academics and advocate for themselves and their needs. They work cooperatively and learn from others.
My Project
Everyone has different strengths and challenges, making differentiating learning essential to academic growth. We have also been exposing the students to Google Docs and Slides as a means of presenting their research, which will give them experience with these important technology resources needed for their careers.
These three Samsung Chromebooks will allow students access to school funded programs and free websites that support differentiated learning.
Because our resources are limited, having access to virtual learning opportunities will add a depth to the content that would not otherwise be available, such as virtual science labs and videos from experts on the topics at hand.
