My Students

As a teacher at an economically and culturally diverse school, my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. My classroom includes students from many countries at varied levels of English proficiency. I strive to provide my students with a safe, creative and meaningful learning environment.

My third grade classroom is a place of challenge and discovery.

Students spend the year learning and developing their reading, writing, math, science and social studies skills. It’s a joy to watch them grow academically, especially in their language development. Many of my students do not have access to technology at home.

My Project

These Chromebooks will be used across the curriculum, allowing the students to blossom as learners. Chromebooks will allow differentiated instruction at the students' unique levels. In addition, the technology will engage the students in their learning.

Chromebooks will support my students in all areas of the STEM curriculum.

In science, students will have access to science websites such as Mystery Science. Students will also be able to research on the chromebooks in order to complete science reports. Students will also be able to practice coding on and other websites. Finally, students will be more engaged in mathematics because they’ll have access to online math programs. Overall, the chromebooks will be incredibly helpful for my students.

Students will be able to use the technology to read and complete activities at their individual levels.

During reading, students will be able to use differentiated programs to access leveled texts. This differentiation will allow students to challenge themselves to think more critically. In writing, students will be able to use the new technology to learn about new topics. In addition, students will have a chance to type their writing pieces, allowing them to grow as writers and authors. During math, students will have access to engaging websites and programs that will help them develop their math skills and math thinking. Students will gain confidence and enjoy a variety of programs.
