Every morning I greet my energetic fourth graders and feel like I'm one of the luckiest people in the world! My students come from a variety of backgrounds that are not always the happiest of situations. Once they come through my door, I want them to know that they matter and that I care about them on a personal level!
I feel that everyone of my students needs to know how special they really are!
I know that learning is one of the most important reasons why children need to come to school. Yet, I strongly believe that the positive relationships they gain at school are very crucial to their success in life as well! Nothing makes me happier than seeing my students excited to be somewhere they feel safe, accepted, and important!
My Project
My students use chrome books every day! We use them for just about everything! We love using Google Classroom to have instant sharing of assignments and projects. We also use them for NearPod lessons, MyOn, XtraMath, and Typing Pal.
Something magical happens when a student is able to express themselves through the use of a Chromebook.
I have multiple students who struggle with writing (poor hand strength). When we have written writing assignments, they struggle. Once they get past their rough draft, they can type their assignment and wow how there fingers fly!
In fourth grade, we also spend 6 weeks in an intensive typing program. I love that my students get to work on their typing skills so that they are prepared for the 21st century. In our classroom, we practice those skills throughout the whole year!
There are so many uses for Chromebooks! We love them! Sadly, we have some older models that are starting to slow down and will no longer be serviceable. We need to start replacing them as soon as possible! Please consider helping my students to stay current with technology...you will be making a huge difference in their lives!
