My students need technology access in our classroom. We are a large school with one computer lab. We have one working computer. These Chromebooks could help us with our mandated skills!
If you were to walk into my classroom, you would see a hands on, child centered room, full of excitement. My students are amazing. We are a small community, with farm families to suburban student transfers. We come with a vast variety of experiences to share.
In my classroom we always say, "We are a family." We spend the year sharing and caring for one another.
My classroom is a safe and fun environment where we take care of one another. I want to provide my students with as many experiences as they can have before they leave my classroom, that will enrich their learning. My hope is that I spur their interests and inspire them to be all they can be. My job is to prepare them and solidify the building blocks for the following years of schooling. I hope they will take a nugget of their learning from my room with them all the days of their life.
My Project
We have limited access to technology in our building. We have very old computers. We have one computer lab that we visit weekly. We have one working computer in our classroom. We are required to test frequently on our students via the computer. My students dread computer time, because the majority of the time it is used for testing.
I want to show my students how fun technology can be when tied to learning multiplication facts and parts of speech.
I can show them with the Chromebooks in small groups fun games to play to enhance their learning. We could utilize these daily in our classroom. This is why I am requesting 3 Chromebooks.
