I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at my school. These students thrive on new and innovative ways to learn. I would like to incorporate more technology to meet their diverse needs. We are located in a unique area with a diverse blend of urban and rural families. Kids are able to learn a lot about different cultures here because we are located near a military base and get a lot of new arrivals, bringing new stories and experiences to us!
We use technology every day in my classroom and among the teachers in the 6th grade. Our philosophy believes it is important to continue to utilize methods of instruction that are at the forefront of education. One of the tools that we love to make use of is Google Classroom. Through Google, students are able to join a 'class' created by the teacher where they can access free, online word processing, slide sharing, and data spreadsheet programs that enhance their learning.
We use Google products to take notes, do assignments, research, review, and take our final assessments.
The addition of 4 more Chromebooks would fill up our current cart of technology and the kids won't have to share or hope that they end up with one for the day because we don't have enough at the moment.
