Help me give my students engaging lessons with use of interactive technology! Chromebooks will help my students experience language in a new and exciting way.
I work with students in Kindergarten through grade 5, who present with diverse communication strengths and needs. They require support in improving their receptive language (what they are able to understand), expressive language (what they are able to express), social language (interacting with others), and speech sounds. No two students that I work with are exactly alike, and every lesson is designed specifically to meet each student's specific needs.
My students are curious, open-minded, and ready to learn!
They love interacting with technology and with each other, and are motivated to be the best they can be.
My Project
I work in Stamford, an incredibly diverse city in southern Connecticut. In our school district, students come from a wide variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. 52% of students qualify for the federal/reduced lunch program. The students I work with in speech-language intervention are hard-working and motivated to succeed in life.
Access to Chromebooks during our speech-language sessions will increase students' engagement, provide more opportunities for practice, and help them to build their language abilities, while increasing technology skills needed for success in today's world.
By donating to this project, you will empower my student to be active participants in their own learning, and interact with language in new and creative ways.
