All students need to learn at their own pace. In my classroom, you will see students working at different levels and rates. It is my job to facilitate, intervene and challenge students.
My caring, motivated 4th graders love to learn and want to be challenged.
Each child learns differently and it's important to provide authentic learning opportunities to every type of learner. In our room, you will see direct instruction, small group instruction as well as discovery centers and independent learning. Most importantly you will see students actively engaged in learning! Our school is located in a rural farming community. Our community is very supportive of our school however we are a Title I school district. This means that the majority of our families don't have extra funds to invest in technology.
My Project
My students need Chromebooks to receive engaging individualized instruction. Students need these devices with Internet capability to access interactive, adaptive programs, allowing them to learn at their own pace. Students will be able to view conceptual and procedural math instructional videos. This program allows students that have mastered concepts to move ahead while slowing down the lessons for reluctant learners. Students will also be able to participate in engaging grammar lessons and work on assignments within a Google Classroom.
My students only have access to 2 mobile Chromebook carts which are shared with 500 other students.
Having daily access to these Chromebooks will allow students the opportunity to work at their own pace. Engaged students will be motivated to connect mathematical concepts and apply these concepts to their own lives.
