Due to Hurricane Harvey, our 2017-2018 school year had a rough start. One third of our student population was affected in some sort of way. Part of our area is still rebuilding and so I am continuing my campaign to bring more technology to my classroom for all of my students. My students are energetic, passionate, willing to learn and try new things. Their spirit and enthusiasm for life and learning are contagious. As teachers and coaches, we want to be able to provide them with the opportunities to express themselves and not limit their knowledge on just what our school funding has to offer. We would love to be able to provide them with an alternative way to connect to the world and use technology to find answers and learn new things.
My Project
To keep up with the latest educational resources, my students need Chromebooks that will stay in our classroom for them to use at any time. We currently have to sign up and share technology at our school and this would help by adding more resources for our classroom that would not have to be shared and could be used daily.
Chromebooks will help bring the world to our students.
They would assist in showing the unique places and cultures around the world as we study them in World Cultures class.
This technology would also allow me to keep students who need oral testing in the classroom for those students to be read to from the chrome book with head sets. This would allow me to monitor their progress on tests and answer any questions they might have.
